Laser Therapy

Therapeutic lasers have been scientifically proven to accomplish reduction of inflammation, relief of pain, and accelerated healing time.
Meridian Animal Hospital has the highest level of therapeutic laser available for companion animals in the 15 watt Lite Cure Companion Laser. Class IV therapy lasers project a beam of laser light that penetrates deeply into tissues through hair, skin and blood. These penetrating packets of laser light induce chemical changes in the cells of muscle, nerve and bone. This process is called photo-bio-modulation.
The importance of this level of therapeutic laser is that it has the capability of delivering a therapeutic dose of energy directly to its target area with the correct combination of power, wavelength and time. These treatments are cumulative and are not invasive or painful.
Each case is unique and is evaluated individually, however, a few categories of patients that have been treated with success include: arthritic patients – hip dysplasia and degenerative joint disease (DJD), wounds – including bites, cuts, hot spots and lick granulomas, post-surgical and/or trauma patients such as spays, neuters, declaws, and post routine procedures such as dentistry’s and abscesses as well as allergies, otitis and many others.
